WEEK 7: FOUND THE HOMESTAY

        After each member of our group had contacted several potential homestay operators, we are pleased to report that throughout the week, we have successfully secured approval from homestays who have expressed interest and willingness to work with us. The selected homestay is Oxalis Homestay located in Kangar, Perlis. This homestay stood out not only for its strategic location and comfortable facilities, but also for the positive response and openness shown by the owner when approached about our project.

        The owners of Oxalis Homestay responded positively to our explanation of the objectives and scope of our project. They showed a high level of cooperation and agreed to provide us with relevant and valuable information that could significantly contribute to the success of our study. In addition, the owner also showed flexibility and support by offering a convenient date and time for the online meeting and interview session, which will be conducted via the WhatsApp application. This platform was chosen for its convenience and accessibility, especially given our current limitations in terms of physical meetings.

        We are truly grateful and appreciate the homestay owner’s positive attitude, willingness to work together and professional communication. Their willingness to share insights into their business operations, challenges and strategies will undoubtedly enrich the content and quality of our project.

        The confirmation from Oxalis Homestay marks a significant milestone in our progress. It not only marks the beginning of our fieldwork phase but also boosts the group’s enthusiasm and spirit. We are very excited and grateful to have been given the opportunity to personally visit the homestay and conduct face-to-face interviews. We believe that this experience will provide us with meaningful exposure, as well as the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting. This collaboration represents a crucial component of our project and we are committed to making the most of it in the coming weeks.
